Connecting Blaine County Students to New Careers
The Center for Career Exploration (CCE) is an initiative of local nonprofit, Far + Wise. The objective of CCE is to provide trade and professional education, training, and job opportunities to benefit Blaine County students and local businesses. CCE will offer programming to middle school students, high school students, and returning students who seek local options for continuing education and training in trades, service businesses, and other professions.

Center for Career Exploration
A Far + Wise Initiative
Far + Wise commits to supporting all student pathways to success, long-term and year-round. We’ve expanded our Kindergarten to Career programs by introducing the Center for Career Exploration — to expose all Blaine County students to a wide range of educational and career options.
Kindergarten to Career
Far + Wise provides academic support and experiential education for students from early elementary through high school and beyond, and by removing financial and other barriers, ensures that all students can achieve their education, career, and life goals —Kindergarten to Career.
Our Experiences
Middle School
We invite middle school students to participate in exploratory camps that will expose you to new ideas about jobs and careers and allow you to experience hands-on learning in different trades and vocations. You will leave camps with new information and new skills to use for summer jobs. These camps will lay the groundwork for continued learning in our more intensive camps and classes.
High School
High School students will have the opportunity to learn about new careers and participate in intensive camps and classes that will provide hands-on experiential learning in your area of interest. You will find a growing list of camps and classes can lead to certifications, apprenticeships, continuing education, and even jobs. We will take field trips to College of Southern Idaho, job-sites and other locations to learn about careers in a range of local industries.
returning students
We now offer year-round programs such as camps, classes, internships, and apprenticeships, to include experiences for returning students up to the age of 26. These experiences guide students on a journey of exploration and development, bridging the gap between students and businesses, to foster successful job placement.
“Honestly, these are the things that motivate many kids to care about school. When they start thinking of their future, they see the connection to what they do daily in school and where they’re going. Even if they don’t go into the career, it helps them to be forward thinking.”
— Middle School Teacher, Wood River Middle School, 2024
